We all want a beautiful smile. It can give us the confidence to form new relationships and be successful in our work. If you have imperfections in your smile that you are interested in having addressed, dental veneers can help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted. Dental Now 14 offers this treatment.

What are dental veneers?

Veneers are thin, custom-made porcelain shells that are attached to the front of the teeth to change how they look.

Benefits of veneers

Dental veneers are very versatile in how they can be used to change the appearance of teeth. They also offer several benefits. In addition to giving you a brighter and whiter smile, veneers:

  • Can help strengthen teeth
  • Blend in with the surrounding teeth to produce a natural-looking restoration
  • Are resistant to staining
  • Improve functionality for speaking and eating
  • Are durable and long-lasting
  • Use a biocompatible material that will not irritate gum tissue

To have veneers placed, you will need to have a consultation at Dental Now 14 where we will discuss your goals and needs. It usually takes at least two appointments to complete the treatment. During your first visit, the teeth receiving the veneers will be prepared to receive the shells. This will require them to be shaved down a small portion. Because veneers are fixed only to the front of the teeth, less of the enamel will have to be removed than with the procedure for dental crowns, another method that is used to change the appearance of a smile. Once enough of the tooth has been removed, your dentist will take impressions of the teeth to send to a dental laboratory. Temporary veneers will be placed onto the prepared teeth to keep them protected until the dental lab completes your veneers.

You will return to our office to have the temporary veneers removed once the permanent ones come back from the dental lab. Your dentist will then place the veneers onto your teeth to check the fit. Adjustments can be made as needed before the shells are permanently bonded to the teeth.
