Caring of your teeth and gums at home is important but not enough, it is still imperative to visit the dentist regularly. We can detect any problems that you may not know about.

The common recommendation is to visit the dentist at least twice a year for check-ups and cleanings. This frequency works well for most patients.

Patients with implants, crowns and some people with gum disease, a genetic predisposition for plaque build-up or cavities, or a weakened immune system might need to visit the dentist more frequently for optimal care.

Cleaning

A Professional cleaning provided by the dentist or dental hygienist can thoroughly clean your teeth and remove the hardened plaque (called calculus or tartar) that builds up on your teeth.

Polishing

After your teeth have been cleaned up, they are polished to remove stains on the teeth surface. The polish solution is made of an abrasive substance and fluoride, and is applied using a small rotating rubber cup or brush.

Prevention

The Dentist or hygienist might offer additional instructions for you to follow at home. Don’t hesitate to ask us any questions or instructions about brushing or flossing.
